Debating/New Camera

Im saving up money to buy a new camera body Im debating on which one to get. The Canon 50d or 7d. The 50d is around 1,000 dollars right now and the 7d is up around 1,800. However I also need to buy the battery grip for either one because I shoot a lot of sports and LOVE having the grip for when I do vertical shots and for the 50d the grip is $150, for the 7d I believe it's around $220. The 50d is 15.1 megapixels and can go up to 12,800 ISO which is big for me because I shoot a lot of sports. The 7d is 18 megapixels and can also go up to 12,800 ISO.

What does everyone think?? Or maybe a better alternative to these 2?
